Dark Custom – an easy way to create customised Harley-Davidson uniqueness

Oxford (3 February 2015) - While more and more motorcyclists turn to customisation to create a unique to them machine, isn’t good to know that owners and fans of Harley-Davidson have several years jump on everybody else? Of course it is. Customisation and Harley-Davidson practically go hand in hand and have done so not long after the “Company’ formed in 1903.

So while the world talks about new generation and urban customisation and the amount of hours in garages and sheds spent sweating to end up with something individual, we here at Harley-Davidson smile in the knowledge that our range of Dark Custom™ Motorcycles are made specifically for individuals. The lines, the attitude and the stance are absolutely perfect, just as you’d pictured it in your mind. Poised. Clean. Subtle. Dark Custom bikes are derived from home-grown bar hoppers and brawlers that emerged from an underground scene to inspire a whole new generation of Harley-Davidson® riders. Call it expression of individuality if you want. We say these machines are for a new, growing breed of rider seeking something different and ready to roll straight from a dealership’s showroom door.

Stripped back and laid back, there are four distinct bikes that sit under the Dark Custom banner in your local dealer’s showroom. From the Sportster® family there is the Iron 883™ and Forty-Eight®. Representing the Dyna® front we have the Street Bob® and Fat Bob®. Available in base black colour-ways, these bikes are ripe to be customised with a distinct range of Dark Custom accessories made to fit precisely and easily. Whether it is a simple casing cover for the engine or air filter, black accessory handlebars and mirrors, or levers and foot controls, there’s not much we don’t do that can change your bike into the single vision you dream about.

Tempted? Be tempted even further with a visit to your local authorised Harley dealer who is proudly displaying just about everything that makes Dark Custom the patron saint of Harley-Davidson individuality. While you are there, make sure you check out Dark Custom literally in the making…

All Authorized UK & Ireland dealers are presently competing against each other to see who will be crowned ‘King of Custom’ by customising in-house a Sportster Forty-Eight. The winner, to be voted for by you via the Harley-Davidson UK & Ireland Facebook page, will be announced in March. The question is: could you do better? Keep an eye out for the next Harley e-zine for your chance to find out if you too could be a King of Custom. See you on the Dark Custom side…
