Oxford (06 June 2012) - Later this month we’re joining the thousands of motoring enthusiasts as they embark on the annual Festival of Speed. The event, which takes place on 28 June to 3 July, is the largest motoring garden party in the world, uniting all things car, motorcycle and motorsport within the immaculate grounds of Goodwood House.
This year we’re taking part in the hill-climb, which is a challenging 1.16-mile course that rises 300ft from the start line to the finish, and is an ultimate test of rider/driver concentration and speed. Traditionally, more than 300 cars and motorcycles attempt the hill-climb each day over the duration of the weekend.
This year we have three Harley-Davidson® motorcycles, including an XR750, XR1200 and an old two-stroke racer – participating in the infamous hill-climb. And what’s more, one of the machines will be ridden by former double Superbike World Champion James Toseland! After retiring from racing in 2011, the 31-year-old Yorkshireman has converted to Harley-Davidson® motorcycles, and has recently taken delivery of his own brand new Slim. His former racing experience will undoubtedly help to give him the pace he needs to complete the course.
As well as participating in the hill-climb, we’re also taking our interactive exhibition stand to the event. With an ‘Art of Custom’ theme, we’ll have a number of new and custom Harley-Davidson® motorcycles on display, custom tanks and custom Gibson guitars. You will also be able to try a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle out for size with our Jump Start feature.
If you’re planning on attending this year’s event, why not pay us a visit?
