2012 Staycation or Vacation with Harley

Oxford (06 May 2012) - Destination Europe

With continuing torrential rain and economic depression, a holiday is at the forefront of many peoples’ minds. But, with increasing financial pressure on lots of families and individuals, tough spending decisions have to be made…do you spend this year’s spare cash on customising your bike and staying at home, or on getting out and seeing the world? As ever, Harley-Davidson has plenty to offer, both home and away…

The fun starts this month with the sixth annual Harley-Davidson EuroFestival kicking off on 10 May at Grimaud, Golfe de St-Tropez. The event traditionally kick-starts the summer season with thousands of Harley-Davidson® motorcycles descending on the stunning bay for an action-packed weekend that has something for everyone, including an expo area, Harley Bar and beach area as well as activities specifically tailored for women riders. There will also be a Custom Bike Show and live entertainment over the course of the weekend. Visit hogeuropegallery.com/euro-festival for more information and ticket pricing.

Alternatively, this year’s European H.O.G.® Rally is taking place in the beautiful and historical Port of Cascais in Portugal on June 14-17. This location for the event offers everything Harley-Davidson riders could desire, from superb local culture, bars and restaurants to beautiful beaches and fantastic scenery. Not to mention the fantastic biking roads with sweeping bends, immaculate surfaces and fantastic views.

Home sweet home

If you’re not quite ready to pack your panniers this month, look ahead to June for an equally exciting calendar closer to home. The Ireland BikeFest in Killarney on 1-4 June promises to be bigger and better than ever – why not enjoy the infamous Irish camaraderie on the Emerald Isle for yourself?

For Custom enthusiasts, the Beaulieu Custom Motorcycle Show on 16-17 June is the place to be! Four of our UK dealers will be exhibiting unique custom bikes and vying for a place in the final of the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building in Sturgis later this year.

As always, the H.O.G.® Chapters have planned a busy social calendar for members in 2012, including the Big Brum Bash on 25-27 May, Wake the Lakes on 6-8 July, the East of England Rally on 26-29 July, the South of England Rally on 3-5 August and Thunder in the Glens on 24-27 August. For full details visit www.hogeuropegallery.com. H.O.G. members can also take part in the World Ride event on 24-25 June.

The calendar of events is changing all the time, so make sure you visit www.harley-davidson.co.uk to keep up-to-date with all the latest news.
