Oxford (02 February 2012) - The next addition to the 2012 Harley-Davidson range is the FLS Softail® Slim. And what makes the Softail Slim stand out from the brilliance of the rest of the Softail range? Its pure and simple ‘bobber’ styling cues neatly wrapped around the outstanding Twin Cam 103B™ engine.
The term ‘bobber’ first came to light in the mid 1940s when bikes were cut down, pared to the bone by their owners to give a look and ride that was ‘slim’, raw and purposeful. The new Softail Slim manages to replicate this straight from the packing crate.
Wide ‘Hollywood’ bars, painted 16in steel wheel rims – complete with a narrow profile rear tyre and fat front – a chopped rear fender and minimal front go hand in hand, as does the gloss black ‘Cats Eye’ console with retro speedometer to give the Softail Slim attitude to match the 1690cc engine’s 97.4ft-lb of grin-making torque. Quite simply the Softail Slim is another classic in the making. A classic brought right up to date with bespoke ABS and electronic systems. The Softail Slim is definitely slim in stature but it is a champion fighter ready to take on the rest of the world.
Join your local dealer on 10-12 February and experience the all-new FLS Softail® Slim and XL1200V Seventy-Two™ before anyone else. This will be the first chance to see for yourself that beauty comes from the depth of the soul rather than the depth of a covering skin.
