New Model Fever – Have You Caught It?

New Model Fever – Have You Caught It?

Oxford (02 February 2012) - Not one but two new exciting Harley-Davidson models are about to land in Harley-Davidson dealers across the UK. And you can view these two superb bikes by way of a special ‘Product launch’ over the weekend of 11 and 12 February, in dealerships across the country.

The new XL1200V Seventy-Two™ personifies old-school Harley-Davidson. It is a machine that will make you look and look again at the depth of nostalgia that emanates from its classic design touches. Talk ‘chopper’ and you will end up shouting Harley-Davidson, because no-one has the experience, motivation and desire to produce a bike like the Seventy-Two

The Seventy-Two is pure retro. From the peanut tank through to the chopped rear fender and everything in-between, Harley-Davidson has used a wealth of knowledge to please the eye. Whitewall tyres and mini-ape handlebars accentuate the ‘past’, while a new and deep luxurious Big Red Flake paint scheme underlines it.

But even though the styling of the Seventy-Two takes you back to a bygone era isn’t it good to know you are riding a bike that is built for now and the future miles to be ridden? The Seventy-Two is pure Sportster®. The handling is as modern as the rest of today’s Harley-Davidson models.

Twin rear shocks and tuned telescopic front forks ensure the chromed steel-lace wheels stay in perfect contact with the road surface. And those wheel sizes? Retro, of course, with a 21in front complementing the 16in rear – both add seasoning to the flavour of the Seventy-Two. A low and manageable 710mm seat height means this bike is sure to be a favourite with everybody.

At the heart of the Seventy-Two is the tried and trusted 1202cc Evolution™ engine. With 70.8ft-lbs of usable torque emanating from the crankshaft of this modern-classic engine, a truly great riding experience is given – an experience you will able to taste for yourself by taking in the preview weekend, talking to dealer staff and arranging a demonstrator ride.
