110th – The Ride Home
18 August-2 September 2013

What better reason to visit the USA in 2013 than to join in the Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary celebrations in its homeland? The Ride Home is a unique opportunity to ride a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle almost 2,000 miles across 10 states up to over 12,000ft and through 3 time zones.

You’ll start your journey in Los Angeles before riding through picturesque Needles picking up the infamous Route 66 and riding through the Mojave Desert and down through the Grand Canyon National Park. Here there will be the opportunity to take a helicopter ride across the Canyon, before the ride begins again into Navajo territory.

Monument Valley

From Kayenta to Durango, you’ll experience the incomparable Monument Valley to sleepy Mexican Hat, a frenzied gold-mining camp which takes its name from a riverside sandstone hoodoo that looks like a sombrero! Then it’s on through picturesque Bluff to the Mokee Dugway and the ride to the Valley of the Gods, where much of ‘Thelma and Louise’ was filmed.

The tour then winds onwards into the heart of the Colorado Rockies, along the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP, Blue Mesa Reservoir and over Monarch Pass to the beautiful Arkansas River Valley to Buena Vista. After another five-star overnight stay, the route takes riders to Cheyene and its picturesque grasslands.

After taking in the Black Hills National Park on back roads, you’ll stop at Fort Laramie, which was founded in 1854 and is the oldest and most important garrisoned outpost in Wyoming. The route then continues north towards Thunder Basin National Grassland, following the old stagecoach route, and then heads into South Dakota and picks up the interstate for the ride into Rapid City.

Hackberry

The latter part of the tour takes in Sioux Falls and the southern valleys of La Crosse, before reaching a superb climax in Milwaukee for the biggest party of the year to celebrate 110 years of Harley-Davidson.

The tour price includes Harley-Davidson® authorised motorcycle rental, accommodation, airport transfers and some meals – please click here for the full list of inclusions, prices and terms and conditions.

110th – Great Lakes, Great Rivers, Great Ride

19 August – 2 September 2013

The 110th – Great Lakes, Great Rivers, Great Ride tour is a unique opportunity to discover some surprising and stunning scenery, ride some fantastic roads and take in the vast open spaces of the Great Lakes area.

After arriving at the O’Hare Airport in Chicago, we’ll take the CTA train or a taxi to a downtown hotel. Here you’ll be free to explore the "Windy City" of Chicago with all it has to offer. The hotel is close to Chicago's famous blues clubs, Navy Pier, Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower), fine dining restaurants and a vibrant nightlife.

The real riding begins on day two, with a 175-mile ride to Galena, stopping at the world’s oldest Harley-Davidson dealership for a break en route, before navigating through the cornfields to Savanna, across the banks of the Mississippi River and through Mississippi Palisades State Park.

The next couple of days see the tour follow the scenic Great River Road northwest, via some small river ports and onto historic Ashland on the shore of Lake Superior. We’ll also stop at the restored Fort Wilkins before arriving in Copper Harbour. The views across the lake in the evening light from the waterfront motel can be spectacular.
