Oxford (28 January 2011) - Visitors to the 2011 Carole Nash MCN Motorcycle Show will be privy to the first UK public viewing of the brand new Harley-Davidson® Softail® Blackline™ motorcycle. Blackline™ will take centre stage on stand N540 at the ExCel-based show on 3-6 February.
The stand will display motorcycles from the current 2011 line-up to suit everyone, from performance to cruisers and entry level to custom. The popular Harley-Davidson Fit Shop, which puts to bed the one size fits all mass production culture, will also be on show.
The revolutionary customisation tool, which features a Fat Boy® motorcycle, means that every Harley rider and pillion can discover and experience their perfect riding position without leaving the stand at ExCel.
Fit Shop allows riders to choose from seven different handlebars in height and width, five leather seats, two footpeg sets and two windshields to customise their Harley-Davidson® motorcycle. Shorter riders can also see what it feels like to instantly reduce the seat height with the use of a variety of floor mats that simulate a range of riding heights.
Suspension on the specially commissioned Fat Boy® that is part of the Fit Shop process can also be altered. The display reinforces the brand’s positioning as the home of motorcycle customisation. The fun about Fit Shop is that modifying the bike takes only moments with the help of new bolt ons and quick detachable parts.
Another aspect on the stand will be the industry’s first full online demo ride booking facility, for those who are unable to try out the bike of their dreams on site. The site is fully functional 24 hours a day, seven days a week at www.harley-davidson.co.uk/testride
Visitors will also be able to get up close to the Harris Performance race-prepped Harley-Davidson® XR1200® motorcycles from the popular one-make series that runs within the British Superbike Championship.
The remainder of the stand will be dedicated to the manufacturer’s other offerings that enhance the Harley-Davidson customer experience. These include Rider’s Edge® Rider Training, Authorised Rentals and Tours, the Harley Owners Group®, Harley-Davidson Insurance and Finance and a display of the latest Harley-Davidson MotorClothes®.
Experienced staff will be on hand to discuss motorcycle tests and training at Rider’s Edge® as well as the bespoke and corporate rider training opportunities that they have on offer. There will also be plenty of information on hand to help those planning their dream trip along Route 66 – from motorcycle rental to fully assisted tours and a Day with Harley® to brush up on skills before you leave.
