Harley-Davidson at Motorcycle Live 2011

Oxford (25 October 2011) - Harley-Davidson will be showcasing its recently launched 2012 model range at the Motorcycle Live Show this November at the NEC. Stars of the show include the new Dyna® FLD Switchback, the 10th anniversary edition of the popular V-Rod® and a refreshed version of the award-winning Night Rod® Special.

Launched ten years ago, the V-Rod revolutionised the Harley-Davidson® motorcycle range and became one of the coolest bikes that the legendary Motor Company had to offer. A decade on, models in the V-Rod family are no less spectacular, and a focus for 2012 will be celebrating 10 years of power cruising for Harley-Davidson with the stunning V-Rod 10th anniversary edition.

Visitors to Motorcycle Live will be able to take in the Brilliant Silver Pearl bodywork, the 10th anniversary badge, straight-shot exhaust with dual chrome slash-cut mufflers, new chrome speed screen visor, chrome powertrain and silver split 5-spoke cast aluminium wheels. Rider ergonomics have also been updated with pull back handle bars and forward mounted footpegs and controls.

Updates to the, already acclaimed, Night Rod Special can also be appreciated. These include a new tapered tail section, lighter-weight wheels, an inverted front fork and improved ergonomics.

The V-Rod family will share the spotlight on stand R136 with Switchback, which highlights the Harley-Davidson focus on customisation by offering two motorcycles in one. The custom street cruiser – perfect for urban environments and cruising around town – quickly and easily becomes a custom touring bike for long weekend getaways with the addition of a windshield and quick detachable saddlebags for increased luggage capacity.

The customisation theme continues with the innovative Harley-Davidson® Fit Shop facility. Riders can use a variety of detachable parts and accessories to create a bike with the right look and feel for their own individual preferences. A selection of bikes already customised with Harley-Davidson® Genuine Parts and Accessories will be showcased to demonstrate the breadth of options available to riders seeking a unique look.

And there’s a chance for one visitor to win a customised Sportster® Forty-Eight® in a free prize draw. The bike is adorned with a Spectrum Metal Flake Tank that uses a million metal flkes to provide an eye-popping explosion of colour and will be complemented by blacked out accessories from the Dark Custom Harley-Davidson® Genuine Parts and Accessories range. The wide-shouldered cruiser is a great entry bike for riders who are new to Harley-Davidson and provides the perfect starting point for a unique customisation project.

Visitors can also find out about the full Harley-Davidson offering including Authorised Tours and Rentals as well as Harley® Insurance and Harley-Davidson Financial Services.
