HARLEY-DAVIDSON FOUNDATION AWARDS LATEST ROUND OF FUNDING GRANTS
Milwaukee (February 29, 2008) - The Harley-Davidson Foundation recently awarded grants to several area non-profit organizations. The grants were awarded to promote programs in the areas of education, community revitalization, arts, culture and health initiatives.
“This latest group of funding awards will help serve the needs of families throughout the Milwaukee area,” said Mary Anne Martiny, Manager, Harley-Davidson Foundation. “We are proud to support these great organizations as they further the reach of their important programs.”
The Harley-Davidson Foundation, Inc. was established in 1993 to support the communities in which Harley-Davidson has facilities and employees. The majority of the Foundation's investments are in the areas of education and community revitalization with funds also supporting programs in arts and culture, health, the environment and national veteran's initiatives.

The Wisconsin Foundation for Independent Colleges, Inc. - College Readiness 21 College Readiness 21 works with central city high school students to build the dream of attending college and provide the tools students need to realize that dream.
Junior Achievement of Wisconsin - Capstone Project
The Capstone Project is a hands-on experiential learning opportunity for students in Wisconsin.
Greater Milwaukee Committee - Milwaukee Public Schools Strategic Plan
Funding to help development a strategic plan for MPS.

Pearls for Teen Girls - Girls 24/7 Initiative - Reaching Career & Academic Goals
Girls 24/7 Initiative is an organized effort to harness a variety of resources, including tutoring, mentoring, college preparation, college tours and more to specifically strengthen girls' potential to reach academic and career goals.
United Community Center - UCC Achiever Academy
The UCC Achiever Academy is a program designed to prepare, engage and track graduates of the Bruce-Guadalupe Middle School to assure high school graduation and post-high school education leading to family supporting wages. In addition to promoting high school graduation, the program is geared toward helping students achieve high academic standards through attendance at the high school of their choice, after-school tutoring and mentoring.
Lynde & Harry Bradley Technology & Trade High School - Business Partner Liaison project
The administrative support position will enhance student learning experiences in their classes and assist students and teachers to connect with the business community.
